Beef Tapa (for Tapsilog!)
– Tapsilog Filipino Recipe is consisting of tapa, sinangag (fried rice), and itlog (egg). It is usually available in restaurants or even in small eatery here in the Philippines.

For those who does not know what tapa is, it is dried cured beef usually prepared beforehand. Be sure to buy fresh beef because it’s the key to make this delicious dish. Here is one of many recipes of tapa, and the steps to prepare tapsilog;
Pork Tocino (for Tocilog!)
– Tocino simply means bacon in Spanish. It is typically made from pork belly. In the Philippines this dish usually served in breakfast. In cooking this food, all you have to do is frying it until the edges caramelize.

Filipinos usually accompany tocino with rice and egg and called it To-Si-Log. To-Si-Log means Tosino, Sinangag (fried rice) and itlog (egg).

It’s a delicious sweet coated meat usually prepared by Asians. Many people here in the Philippines make tocino as their source of income. So if you want to start a business or just want to learn how to process it, here is recipe on how to make tocino;
Corned Beef (for Consilog)

As the saying goes, you should eat breakfast like a king, and we Filipinos take this phrase to heart. Our breakfasts could be considered heavy by other countries’ standards. It usually consists of fried rice, eggs and some form of meat or dried, salted fish, and maybe some pan de sal (bread). Eating cereal is just not enough for us.

Being a third world country, not everybody in the Philippines can have the luxury of eating pork, beef, chicken or even fish all the time, so one has to find cheaper alternatives. One of them is the canned sardines. It is a staple for most families and is considered the “poor man’s food”. Aside from being cheap, you can find it anywhere, from the groceries to the neighborhood sari-sari store.

Longanisa (for Longsilog)
– Longanisa is not originally a native Filipino dish. It is under a food category which Spaniards introduced to the Philippines.

But Filipinos have their own versions of longanisa, actually if you go to places such as Aklan, Cebu or Negros, they have unique longanisa recipes. In some parts of Visayas and Mindanao it is called chorizo.
