HIGH PROTEIN Holiday PARTY MIX Recipes | Healthy Snack Ideas for Entertaining

Bringing the holidays in with fine style Abbey has teamed up with Krave Gourmet jerky to share three healthy snack mix recipes with you to have on hand when those unexpected guests show up and you some snacks in a hurry.

Most snack mixes are basically just cereal, nuts and candy that has been coated in oil and sugar. Abbey’s unique snack mix creations offer a perfect blend of fiber, healthy fats and protein. The protein itself is derived primarily from the addition of Krave gourmet jerky. If you’ve been watching this channel for any time at all you have no doubt noticed that Abbey is obsessed with this jerky because it packs 8 grams of protein per ounce, has less sodium than most brands out there, and has no artificial flavors or preservatives. It’s delicious all on its own but it makes a real treat in these three healthy snack mixes.

The First snack mix on deck is Abbey’s Mexican Fiesta Mix. Start by making your popcorn from scratch. Just add 1/2 cup of unpopped popcorn to a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Let the kernels pop, waiting for a break in the popping sounds before you turn off the heat and the ever so carefully open the lid. To season this mix together 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tsp of lime zest, 1/4 tsp of chili powder, 1/2 tsp of sea salt, and then drizzle your mix all over the popcorn. Add in some coarsely chipped Krave chili lime beef jerky, 1/4 cup of cashews, 1/4 cup of toasted coconut flakes and finally some dried mango to top it all off.

Next up is Abbey’s Cherry, Chocolate and Almond Mix. Starting with 8 cups of air popped popcorn mix 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tsp of lemon zest, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp of brown sugar, 1/2 tsp of sea salt and then toss it all together gently. Add in a package of Krave black cherry pork jerky, 1/4 cup of dried cherries, 1/4 cup of sliced toasted almonds and finally 1/4 cup of mini dark chocolate chips.

Last on the list is Abbey’s unique Teriyaki Wasabi Mix. This batch of popcorn you will season with 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1/2 tsp of wasabi powder, 1 1/2 tsp coconut sugar, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and 1/2 tsp sea salt. After that you will add a pack of Krave sweet teriyaki pork jerky, 1/4 cup of wasabi peas, 1/4 cup sesame rice crackers, and lastly 1/4 cup of peanuts.

Since there are no preservatives in the jerky you’ll want to eat your creations within the first 3 days to be on the safe side, although Abbey notes she has never had a problem from going a bit over.
