Here is the entire recipe!
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. Ghee
½ Tsp. Rai (mustard seeds)
8 to 10 curry leaves
2 green chillies slit into two
Pinch of hing (Asafoetida)
¼ cup peas par boiled
¼ cup tendli (Ivy Gourd)
2 brinjal cut into 4 pieces each
¼ cup soaked cashews
½ tsp turmeric powder
5 Tbsp. goda masala
1 ½ cup payasa rice
3 cups water
Salt as per taste
1 tsp. jaggery sugar
1 tbsp. grated coconut for garnish
1 Tbsp. coriander for garnish
Directions:
Soak rice for 15 to 20 mins and keep aside.
Par boil peas and keep aside.
In a cooking pot, add ghee, rai, curry leaves, green chilies, hing, tendli, brinjals, soaked cashews and mix well.
Add turmeric powder, goda masala and mix well.
Then, add rice and mix.
Add water, salt and let it come to a boil.
Once it starts boiling add jaggery sugar and mix well.
Now, cover the lid and let it cook for 12 to 15 mins.
Open the lid, check if the rice is cooked properly.
Transfer it to a serving bowl and serve hot.
