Corn Fritters or Corn Wada from Maimoona Yasmeen’s Recipes
Ingredients:
Corn kernels: 250 grams
Chick pea flour/besan: 100 grams
Green spring onions/hari pyaz ki patti: 3/4th cup
Diced onion: 50 grams
Crushed garlic: 1 teaspoon
Chopped coriander: 1 ½ tablespoon
Whole green chillies: 3
Salt: 3/4th teaspoon
Red chilli powder: 1 12 teaspoon
Cumin/zeera powder: ½ teaspoon
Oil for frying
Procedure:
1. Grind sweet corn kernels into a paste and keep aside. Do not use water while grinding.
2. Take out this paste in a bowl and add chickpea flour or besan, washed and strained chopped green spring onions, crushed garlic, chopped coriander, thinly diced green chillies, salt, red chilli powder and add cumin or zeera powder.
3. Mix well. Add diced onion.
4. Mix again and keep aside.
5. Add oil for frying.
6. When the oil is hot, make flat fritters or wada from the corn mixture.
7. Lower these fritters into the hot oil and fry on both sides, till they turn light brown.
8. Remove from the pan and serve hot.
