Paneer is all time favourite. Paneer masala is a very easy and simple recipe. Paneer is cooked in onion and tomato based gravy. Few spices increase the taste of the dish. This is a perfect main course dish that goes well with naan or chapatti or roti. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredient list
For Marinating Paneer:
• 250 gm Paneer
• 1/2 tsp Garam masala
• 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Lemon juice
For Gravy:
• 2 tbsp Oil
• 2 tbsp Ghee
• 1 big Onion
• 1 tbsp Besan / Chickpea flour
• 2 medium size Tomatoes pureed
• Red chili powder
• Coriander powder
• 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
• 1 tsp Garam masala
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Sugar (Optional)
• 1 cup Hot water
• 1 tsp Kasuri methi
For Making Paneer Masala:
• 1 tbsp OIl

Method:
For Marinating Paneer:
• Cut paneer into small cubes and transfer it into a bowl.
• Add garam masala, red chili powder, salt, lemon juice and mix
well.
• Cover and rest it for just about 30 minutes.
For Gravy:
• Heat up oil in a pan. Add ghee which gives nice texture to paneer
masala.
• Grate the onion and strain out all the moisture form onion with
the help of strainer.
• When oil and ghee in enough hot add strained onion.
• Mix well and fry on medium heat until onion gets deep golden
color for about 8-10 minutes.
• Add besan and mix well.
• Cook besan for just about a minute. Besan gives nice binding to
gravy.
• You can use wheat flour or maida in place of besan.
• Add tomato puree and mix well.
• Cook the masala on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes or
masala begins to release oil.
• Add red chili powder, coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste,
garam masala, salt to taste and mix well.
• Cook the masala on medium heat for 2 minutes.
• You can add sugar along with dry spices if you don’t like sour
taste of tomatoes.
• Add hot water and mix well.
• Crush kasuri methi in your palms and add it. Mix well.
• Cover and cook the gravy on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.
For Making Paneer Masala:
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• When the oil is nice and hot add marinated paneer.
• Toss it and cook for just about a minute.
• The paneer should be just hot. Do not shallow fry it.
• Remove the lid from the gravy and mix the masala well once.
• Add tossed paneer in the gravy and mix well.
• Cover and cook again for just about 2 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and paneer masala is already.
• You can serve paneer masala with naan, paratha, roti.
