This is an easy method kuruma recipe. Ideal for a busy morning this method requires no extensive vegetable cutting or cleaning vessels. This recipe requires no oil. So it is healthy for elders and diabetics.
Ingredients and method :
To steam cook:
Carrot – 1
Potato -1
Green peas – a handful
Beans – 10
Knol Knol – 1
Tomato – 2
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick – 1
Cloves – 5
Cucumber seeds – 1 tsp
Melon seeds – 1 tsp
Cashews – 5
Garlic – 5
Ginger – 1 ” piece
Green Chilli- 2
Red chilli – 2
To grind :
Cardomom – 1
Stone flower – a small piece
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tsp ( optional)
Mint – a small bunch
Coriander leaves – a small bunch
* Steam cook all the vegetables and spices in an idly pot for 10 minutes.
* Alternatively it can be pressure cooked for 2 whistles.
* Grind all the spice items along with Cardomom, stone flower, deskinned tomatoes, and a small potato piece.
* Remove skin from vegetables and break them into small pieces.
* Saute the masala for a minute, add salt and vegetables. ( can be done with a tsp of oil too)
* Rinse the mixie jar with 1/2 cup water. Add required water and adjust the consisteny as per preference. Cook for a minute till everything boils together.
* Switch off and add finely chopped coriander and mint leaves.
Quick and easy no oil kuruma is ready.
